Tip #1: Shop around

It's always a good idea to shop around if you like to do shopping or trial offers. Check out which of your favorite GPT sites is paying the most and complete the offer there. For example, right now the payout for the Video Professor offer at DealBarbiePays is $30.00 and 5 signs. If I check two of my other favorite sites I see that at The Dragon's Gold the payout is $22.00 and 10 coins; at SquishyCash the payout is $12.50 and 3 chips. Based on these comparisons I'll be heading over to DealBaribiePays to complete this offer.

You wouldn't buy the first car you found just because it was at your favorite dealer(if there exists such a thing), so don't complete an offer just because it is at your usual site. Shop around, see where you can make the most money!

If you are an avid online shopper you may want to go check out Ebates.com. They offer rebates for shopping online at over 900 stores. Yes, 900. Most major retail stores such as Target, Macy's, Barnes and Noble, etc. offer between 2%-6% cash back. Just to give you an idea of what they have to offer, here is just a small sample of stores and their cash back value-

1. They only send out payments every three months. So, if you are looking for fast cash this is not the place for you.
   
2. You have to accrue $5.01 in your account before you receive your payment. So, if you only shop at major retailers online occasionally this is not the place for you.

If, however, you do most of your shopping online this is a great site to take advantage of. Their list of retailers is astounding and they offer coupons for stores on their site that do not offer cashback. So, you save money either way.

Welcome to The GPT One Stop! If you are interested in getting started in the GPT world please take a look at my tutorial. In the future I will be posting reviews, proofs of payment and other goodies. This blog is just getting started so stay tuned!

What is GPT and how does it work?

What is a GPT site?
A GPT(Get Paid To) site pays you to participate in a number of online activities. These activities range from signing up for offers, clicking ads, reading emails, surfing the web or participating in an online community. This blog will primarily focus on sites that pay you to complete offers(PTSU) or click links(PTC).
At PTSU sites there is a set fee that you will be payed for completing an offer. Offers come in many shapes and sizes. One type of offer is the free offer. Free offers are usually just questionnaires or surveys. These are the easiest to complete and have a payout range of 25 cents to $2.00. There are also trial offers. You sign up for a trial of a product or service and in return you get paid anywhere from a couple of dollars to over $20. Trial offers will require a credit card. If you are not comfortable with using your credit card, don't worry you can still make money just completing free offers. In addition, some GPT sites offer you cash back for shopping online. Follow the link from your GPT site to your favorite store, shop as you normally would and earn a percentage back from what you spent shopping.
At PTC sites you are paid to click on a link that will direct you to another site. You then have to view this site usually for a minimum of at least 10 seconds before you are credited. Payment for each click can range from .001 cents to 2 cents. The payment is low for these because they require little effort.

How does it work?
You may be asking yourself "Well this sounds great but why would I get paid to do these simple things?" The answer to that is incentivised marketing. Companies are always looking for more customers. The more customers they have the more money they make. In order to get more customers, companies contract GPT sites or affiliates to drive customers to use their products or at the very least view advertisements of their products. The affiliate receives a commission for this service and then passes a portion of that commission on to you the customer/consumer.

Part 1: Getting Started
Before you can begin completing offers there are a few things you should do first. These things may seem like a hassle but they really won't take much time.

1. Set up several email addresses to use for completing offers. Free offers will generate a lot of junk mail and you don't want all that junk mail coming to your normal email account. You can set up your junk mail addresses at gmail.com I suggest setting up at least ten "junk email" accounts. You will need multiple addresses because you want the companies that are advertising these offers to recognize you as a unique person each time you fill out one of their offers. Try not to use the same email address with the same advertiser. For example, if you complete a MID offer using the email address 123abc@me.com you would want to use another email address the next time you complete an offer from MID. *Note: you will only want to use these "junk email" addresses when signing up for free offers. Always use your normal email address when signing up with GPT sites.*
2. 2. The next thing you may want to do is set up an account with Brring. Brring is a call forwarding service. They give you a number that when used, forwards calls to your normal telephone number. Anyone who calls will listen to a ten second ad before being connected with you. This helps mitigate the telemarketing calls generated by completing offers. Most of the time they will hang up before you ever hear the phone ring.
3. 3. Also, downloading CCleaner will help you to clear your cookies and cache quickly between offers. It's free to download if you choose to use it. I prefer to manually clear my cookies, but the choice if yours.
4. 4. Lastly, it is a good idea to set up a Paypal account, if you do not already have one. This is the most common method of payment. Many sites have other payment options such as check or gift card, but Paypal is safe and fast. In order to receive payment, your Paypal account will need to be verified with , so make sure to do this when you sign up with Paypal.

Part 2: Places to start

So, now you are ready to start, but where should you start? I suggest signing up with sites that are listed in my Top Ten PTSU. For a more comprehensive list check out my GPT directory. If you are still feeling a little unsure about whether you can actually make money doing this, I would suggest you sign up with a site that pays daily. This way you can see quickly it is entirely possible to make money. My suggestions are FreebiesOnTap and DealBarbiePaysFast.

Part 3: How to Complete a PTSU Offer

The following is an excerpt from the CashCrate website on how to complete an offer. It might vary slightly from site to site but this is a good basic tutorial on how to complete an offer.

1. Click on "Complete Offers" in the Member's navigation bar.
2. Click on the "Cash Offers" tab in the offers box.
3. Decide which offers you want to show and how you want to sort them. To start off with, we recommend you show the '100% Free' offers and sort by 'Rating'. These offers are completely free to complete and the easiest offers come up on the top of the stack. Now click 'Go!'.
4. Choose an offer from the table that appears. Note the description (which tells you how to complete the offer), then click on the offer name.
5. The offer will open in a new window. Complete the offer using truthful information. After you're finished, closed the window.
6. You're done! The only thing left to do is submit the offer to us so we can credit you. Go back to the offer table and click the 'Submit' button to the right of the offer you just completed. The offer will be added to your Pending list and removed from the offers table.
7. Once we confirm the offer (usually within a couple hours), the money will be moved to your monthly earnings and the offer will be put in your Completed offers table.

Part 4: Rules and Tips

Rules for signing up with GPT offer sites

• GPT Sites allow only one account per household. Do not sign into your account using any computer other than the one you always use. DO NOT allow anyone else to sign into your account. Sites track your IP address and if they find more than one account related with an ISP they will delete your account.
• Only use Internet Explorer or Firefox to complete offers. AOL and Netscape do not have static IP addresses. Do not use AOL or Netscape.
• Always use your normal email address when signing up with GPT sites. This is how they will communicate with you.
• You will need to submit a W-9 tax form at each GPT site once you reach $600 in any given year.

Tips for completing PTSU offers

• Read the Tutorials and help pages at GPT sites. These offer valuable information to help your offers credit.
• Stick with just one or two GPT sites in the beginning. At least until you get the hang of completing offers.
• Find GPT sites that you are comfortable with and work those.
• Never use false information when filling out offers. Advertisers are paying for your information, please give it to them. You can get banned for using false information.
• Only complete an offer once. You cannot complete an offer on one site and then complete it again on another site. Doing this will get you banned. For example, if you complete a Brandarama iPhone offer at Squishycash you cannot repeat the same offer at DealBarbiePays. You could complete another type of Brandarama offer there, say Brandarama Revlon.
• Keep a spreadsheet or a list of completed offers if you are going to be completing offers at several different sites.
• Try to do only 8-10 freebies in one sitting.
  
• Only do a couple of freebies from a group of offers in a sitting. For example, only complete a couple of offers from Brandarama in one sitting.
  
• When completing offers you do not always have to go through all the pages. Many offers, especially the lower paying ones only require you to do the first couple of pages. My rule of thumb is to keep going until I see the page that says "Congratulations" and the email that I submitted. Some GPT sites will tell you how far to go for each offer.
• For survey type offers you only need to answer those questions marked with a red asterisk(*).
  
• Keep the final page of the offer open for about 1 minute to allow the offer to track properly.
• Sometimes offers can take several days to approve. If after a week an offer has yet to approve you may go into your pending folder and delete that offer. You can then try to complete the offer again.

• A good rule of thumb for trial offers is never sign up for something you do not truly want.
  
• Keep detailed records of all trial offers. Also, make sure to read all the rules and fine print in order to get credit!

Technical Requirements

• Turn off web accelerators.
• Turn off pop-up blockers.
  

• Make sure your computer is set to accept all cookies.

• Make sure to clear your cookies after completing and submitting an offer. Don't clear your cookie for the GPT site you are on, this will log you out.
